Fitting is as described. good quality replacement.
Note: this has a face after the threads that will allow for a flat sealing surface with an o-ring.
Threads are 1/4"NPT (so they do have a taper)
My original fitting was 1/4"NPS, "national pipe straight" , so if you have the same situation, using sealant tape and a correct o-ring is req'd. for leak free installation.

It's a simple part, but hard to find. Went to various hot tub places and they didn't have it. Went to plumbing shops and the big box stores. nothing. Could get it in brass, but it doesn't taper down far enough like the plastic one. Delivery was timely as well. A bit costly for a small part, but you wouldn't notice that on a bigger part.
