Relays in a hot tub are used for switching a component of the spa on or off in the power pack such as pumps, lights, heaters or air bubblers. Relays which are separate are used in older mechanicial analog power packs. New digital power packs with computer boards, the relays are soldered on the circuit boards and normally can not be changed.
